Ratchet & Clank Collection explodes onto Vita July 29th

Play the classic trilogy on-the-go with this digital release

Vita owners might be reasonably worried that they'll be getting less premium releases in the future (in favor of more independent releases), but that doesn't mean familiar faces won't show up. Sony has announced this week that the Ratchet & Clank Collection, which originally appeared on the PlayStation 3 last year, will make its way to the PS Vita starting July 29th. (It was originally set for today, but Sony has since delayed it a week.)

The release is a compilation of the duo's original trilogy from the PlayStation 2 era, including the first Ratchet & Clank, as well as its two follow-ups, Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal. It's unknown at this time if the game's fun multiplayer will make the cut, as it did in the PS3 re-release.

The game release will be digital only, unlike other games like God of War Collection and The Sly Collection, which have come out in physical form. A price hasn't been mentioned, but $29.99 seems to be the likely sticking point here. When the game was released in Europe, it was cross-buy compatible for those who bought the PS3 edition, but Sony's American division hasn't announced if that'll be the case here.

Regardless, another new Vita release to enjoy for summer. Huzzah!
