Most promotional videos for upcoming games like to load up on game footage without really getting to the point of what they're actually about (since, you know, we can figure it out and all). For its latest piece for No Man's Sky, Hello Games takes a different route. Studio head Sean Murray explains what the team is all about, while at the same time delving into the inspiration behind this new adventure.

Murray talks about the game's inspiration, how it got created, and other bits and pieces. As expected, there's also some glimpses into the game's design, so you can see its bright colors on full display as you jump from planet to planet.

Murray also chats about the flood that wiped out the studio late last year, a feat that the studio somehow managed to bounce back from so it could continue development on No Man's Sky. If you're any kind of inside developer stories (or, like us, a fan of the game), you'll definitely want to give this a watch.

No Man's Sky is scheduled to release next year for PC and PlayStation 4.

Robert Workman was previously a games journalist creating content at Shacknews.
