Shovel Knight digs a path to June release

After a longer-than-expected delay, Shovel Knight has finally set a new date: June 26.

Shovel Knight, the 8-bit-styled game that was delayed from its March 31 release, finally has a new date. Yacht Club Games announced that it will come to PC, Wii U, and 3DS on June 26.

In a note on its Kickstarter, Yacht Club apologized for the delay, which was only originally planned to last a few weeks.

"We’ve worked 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for more than a year to bring this game to you; we’re extremely proud of the result, and we hope you love it just as much as we do," the studio wrote. "We hit some snags along the way and we’re sorry that we couldn’t deliver it sooner, but, hopefully, it will prove more than worth the wait!"
