Dustforce adds free map packs to Xbox 360, PS3, and Vita versions

When Dustforce released on Xbox 360, PS3, and Vita, it was missing a little something from their PC counterpart: the level editor. But as promised, Capcom and Hitbox Team have compiled the best custom maps from the PC game into free downloadable DLC that's available for pickup right now.

When Dustforce released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and Vita, it was missing a little something from their PC counterpart. These versions of the dust-busting platformer came without the game's level editor. But as promised, Capcom and Hitbox Team have compiled the best custom maps from the PC game into free downloadable DLC that's available for pickup right now.

Capcom-Unity notes that the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma map packs are now available as free DLC in the PlayStation Store for PS3 and Vita users. Xbox 360 users will simply have to boot the game, as the map packs are uploaded automatically as a title update.

The new maps are truly devious creations, adding even more difficulty to an already brutally difficult game. To get a taste, check out this video below from YouTube user Virgate Spy, as he ventures through one of the Alpha map pack's harder stages.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
