Chatty Twitch Highlights 13: The Elder Scrolls Online, TF2, and Shadow of the Colossus

There's a lot of nostalgia on this week's Twitch menu, but not until we take a look at one of the more recent (and divisive) games of the last few weeks. Chatty's inc77 plays through The Elder Scrolls Online and actually likes what he sees. Meanwhile, Sapiens plays through the shooter that continues to live on nearly a decade after it was first released, Team Fortress 2. And dael takes us back in time with the PlayStation 2 classic, Shadow of the Colossus.

Here's a compilation of some of the best Shacknews Twitch highlights for the week of April 12, 2014.

The Elder Scrolls Online

If there's one game that's left much of the Shacknews Chatty community divided, it's The Elder Scrolls Online. A majority of posters over the past few months have derided the game as a hackneyed entry into the MMO genre and a game wholly unworthy of the Elder Scrolls name. One of our Chatty members, inc77, decided to give the game a look and has come out pleasantly surprised. Take a look at his playthrough and judge for yourself whether ESO is worth your time and hard-earned buck.

Team Fortress 2

I'm going to be the first person to admit that I haven't been on Team Fortress 2 in quite a while. And I say this as someone that's put in well over 2,000 hours into the game. I don't know what got me thinking of TF2 again. Maybe it's the Maddog thread from earlier this week. But I'm happy to relive this still-amazing shooter through the eyes of Sapiens. Along with his partner, Shmelkovich, the man may have just convinced me to jump back in with my Pyro. Yes, I'm a dirty Backburner Pyro, why do you ask?

Shadow of the Colossus

And finally, set your gears for nostalgia, as dael takes us back to the PS2 days. Can you believe he's never played Shadow of the Colossus? I know! Well, he's finally getting around to experiencing this beloved classic and continuing his hunt for the mighty colossus warriors wandering the world.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
