Updated with official details.

A PS4 version of The Last of Us has appeared on the PlayStation Store. Dubbed the "Remastered Edition," a pre-order will be available for $59.99.

Sony's Shuhei Yoshida further confirmed the PS4 version and the game has now appeared on Amazon.

Reports of an enhanced next-gen port surfaced just a few weeks ago. "The PS4 version will also include the DLC so you will be able to play 'Left Behind' as well," Sony's Sercan Sulun said. In addition to the DLC, the Remastered Edition also includes "in-game cinematic commentary from the cast and creative director."

"Moving our efforts to the PS4 has allowed us to remaster an already phenomenal looking The Last of Us in 1080p with a list of upgrades including higher resolution character models, improved shadows and lighting, upgraded textures, along with even more improvements," Naughty Dog's Arne Myer confirmed on the PlayStation.Blog.

Losing The Last of US was my only regret when selling my PS3. This is good news indeed!

Totally agree. I had only started the game, but didn't have space for a PS3 anymore when the PS4 came out. Will definitely be getting this, and now I get to play it with even better graphics.

The guys at IGN Xbox came up with this, but all these next gen remasters like Tomb Raider, Halo and Last of Us are all the new backwards compatibility -- except customers are paying the full price $60 for each game.

There are so few of them though, so it's not really like backwards compatibility at all (yet).

They can try to charge full price, but I bet those prices fall quickly. Tomb Raider was recently offered at half price on both PS4 and Xbox One.

No. You must be bitching and whining up a storm that your VHS and DVD movies don't automatically play in your Blu-Ray player at maximum resolution, at no extra cost to you.

They weren't complaining, and if Twilyght is echoing their sentiment, neither is he.

They were saying that there is no reason to have backwards compatibility, unless they do it like this. Essentially, how often do you throw older games back on the fire, unless they've been upgraded and remastered.
