Funktronic Labs, an indie studio founded by Q-Games vet Eddie Lee, has announced its first game: a hybrid of turn-based and real-time strategy mechanics called Nova-111. It's due for PC, Mac, and Linux sometime this year.
A brief trailer from the official site shows off the concept in action. Movement is grid-based, but both your unit and the enemy units make their moves at once--all while managing your health and fuel. The trailer also shows a glimpse at some environmental solutions, like positioning enemies where they'll be killed by falling stalactites.
Steve Watts posted a new article, Real-time/turn-based hybrid Nova-111 announced.
