We've seen Call of Duty: Ghosts show off firefights on top of moving streetcars and Michael Myers, but details on the Onslaught DLC's addition to the game's Extinction mode were few. That changed with today's new trailer, dedicated solely towards setting the stage for the next chapter in Ghosts' alien invasion tale.

"At a remote facility in the Alaskan wilderness, the shadowy Nightfall Program has been researching the origins of the 'Alien' threat," states a blog entry on the Call of Duty website. "When the scientists lose control, a small team of elite soldiers must retrieve the intel, exterminate hordes of hostile creatures, and survive a three-story tall terror unlike anything they've faced before."

Onslaught arrives on January 28 on Xbox One and Xbox 360, with other platforms coming later.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
