The Elder Scrolls Online will have three factions constantly colliding in a massive central hub, but that sort of thing can't go on forever. Eventually a winner will be declared, and developer Brian Wheeler has offered a few more details on just how that will work. In a recent Q&A, Wheeler detailed the length of the campaigns and how ZeniMax will be making changes as it rolls out new waves.

The Q&A with Elitist Jerks (via Polygon) reveals that the campaigns will each last about three months. New scoring rules will be introduced with each reset, based on player feedback. Completing PvP challenges will reward you with rank symbols, and armor rewards in the light, medium, and heavy varieties.

"We have the ability to make scoring changes and duration changes depending on player needs and we'll analyze how scoring goes to determine if we need alternate rulesets with different duration, scoring, but also if we need to add player level restricted campaigns or not," he said.

Other revelations include the length of time to walk from north to south in Cyrodiil will be about 20-30 minutes, and players will be able to sneak up on others without detection. He does note, however, that latency means the mechanic is "not pinpoint."
