Pretty underwhelming with CoD, BF4, and AC4 being out of the current generation at the time of launch. Unfortunately the Xbox One is in the same boat. I really hate the dual-generation game launches.

The industry is getting stale. New hardware isn't going to change that. I haven't seen a lot of examples of the new tech leading to innovative gameplay. Mostly just better lighting and LoD.

It's all good though, there are still good indie games from time to time and there are still tons of games made between 1983 and 2006 that I want to play.

Yeah, these are terrible, and the X1's aren't much better. (Ryse and Forza are literally the only ones even worth a look)

and Ryse looks like a glorified tech demo.

Is Dead Rising 3 not making launch? That's the most interesting launch title for me.

Ryse, Forza, Dead Rising and Killer Instinct. For a launch I don't think that's to bad. I remember having to get PDZ and Kameo for my 360 :).

I also forgot about KI. Yeah, X1 is actually much better than PS4, exclusive wise (at least IMHO)

they have their killer racing game and dead rising.. which should be fun for co-op. That's better than not too bad IMO.

Ryse isn't worth looking at by the looks of it.

Agreed. I wouldn't be surprised if it were simply mediocre, but maybe we will get lucky. Hoping Killzone is great too. We'll see.

Killzone Shadowfll is already sitting on my game shelf. Gonna pick up Knack as well. Excited it has coop.

      Resogun also looks fun.

I have BF3 on PS3 and will pay the $10 to upgrade.

Kicks the shit out of Wii/360/PS3/Wii U launches . Dono what people expect . This is a pretty stellar launch compared to last 4.

Wii was different because it had the new control system as the launch gimmick anyway, so you had Wii Sports and Wii Play to get used to motion controls, Red Steel as a first look into motion FPS (which then never got followed up, but I still maintain Red Steel was an epic game just from what it showed was possible. If you got good at wiimote+nunchuck, it wasn't mouse+keyboard but it was infinitely better than dual analogue), and then Twilight Princess. It was a really fun launch.

Wii U was like.. play Nintendoland for a day, play NSMBU for 3 days, gather dust.

Unless it gets really bad reviews, I think I'm getting Knack. Ass Pirates is kind of interesting to me as well because I haven't played an AC game since the first one.

Flower, I never played this and I'm very curious and Resogun has some decent buzz. I think I'll definitely have enough to keep me busy for a few weeks until something else comes out.

I'll be getting it because of the Target B2G1 free deal. Asspirates, killzone, and knack as the third freebie. It could be a fun change of pace.

I played knack for like 30 minutes at pax and I think it's trash. It was like a shitty cameo. Seriously not a fun game. But hey!

Makes this current launch lineup look pretty great in comparison. Sports titles are the worst for launches in my opinion.

yup...pretty much all ports of current-gen titles. They just looked nicer on 360. Kameo was fun, and PGR3. PS3's lineup was even worse.

The 360 launch was interesting for me. I got a bundle that came with every launch game. Sadly most of them just werent worth playing. :(

The most interesting game of the bunch for me was Hobo Fight Simulator '05.

Haha yup. I remember people mocking the Wii U launch lineup when it was really quite par for the course. People have simply forgotten how weak the Day 1 selection tends to be on new consoles.

I loved Perfect Dark Zero on 360 though. Wasn't perfect, got pretty hard near the end, but it was a great co-op game that actually gave both players different things to do. The one level that hit home was the one that had one of you covering the other with a sniper rifle up in the rafters for a whole mission, which saw you taking different paths. Up until then I had never played a console game that not only allowed players to be so far apart but also gave them different but equally important tasks. The multiplayer and wacky weapons were fun too, especially the camera-guided lazy missles that you could see were chasing you by their smoke trails. People dog on PDZ so much these days but I thought that game was a great launch title, and it was definitely DIFFERENT!

Typical for a console launch. I think the best launch day title was probably Halo, back when the original Xbox came out.

Halo was certainly amazing. Mario 64 and Super Mario World were also great. I have to say my personal favorite back in the day was Soul Caliber though. My friends and I played the CRAP out of that game in college. In fact, Dreamcast had a pretty great launch line up.

Sad but true, after the shitty XB 360 support for Pinball Arcade, i am most looking forward to all the previously released tables on PS4 until the second wave of games is out.
