EA Sports is working on a new PGA Tour game for next-gen consoles. However, the new generation of golf games will come with more than just a graphical upgrade. The company is ending their relationship with Tiger Woods, with future games to be made in collaboration with PGA Tour "exclusively."

"EA Sports and Tiger Woods have also made a mutual decision to end our partnership, which includes Tiger's named PGA Tour golf game. We've always been big fans of Tiger and we wish him continued success in all his future endeavors," the company said on their official blog.

The next golf game from EA Sports promises to offer a "new approach" for golf, one focused on choice and customization. The screenshot above is a first look at what the game will look like on PS4 and Xbox One.

Exclusive PGA? You mean there were other golf games?

It's time. We're finally at the point where business guys engaging in water cooler discussion about golf don't kick it off by talking about how Tiger did. A sport being all about how one athlete performs is an unsustainable (and unhealthy) condition.

Sure... thats what EA practices, which is why they never put a coach or an athletes name on their products or uses who's popular from year to year on their covers.

Can pretty much bet whoever is popular is going to still be on the cover of their new PGA games.

BRANDT SNEDEKER PGA TOUR 2014!! Actually, they should do that.

I'm waiting for EA's NFL game to stop carrying the Madden name, since John Madden has effectively retired from being a visible figurehead for the NFL at large. Essentially, the only reason the John Madden name is still on the game is because the brand equity hasn't faded away.

Which won't be happening for quite some time. Madden = videogame football.
