Blur is back... as a top-down mobile game

Bizarre Creations' last game before they were unceremoniously shuttered by Activision was arcade racer Blur. Essentially Mario Kart with realistic cars, the game had you using power-ups to attack other vehicles and gain the edge.

The game is now available on Google Play, with an iOS release to come soon. And of course, it's free-to-play. Like the original console game, you'll have various power-ups at your disposal: mines, shield, nitro, shock, and more.

There are 25 cars to own and 250 customizations to unlock, which should give you a good idea how monetization might work in the game. Here's a trailer of what it looks like:

I am disappointed, Blur was such a good game. It was literally Mario Kart but with real cars

What a fucking disappointment. Especially after the Blur 2 concept teaser. http://kotaku.com/5973766/this-is-probably-what-blur-2-would-looked-like-too-bad-youll-never-play-it

Bizarre Creations was one of my fav devs. Blur was a lot of fun too. This remake seems okay, I'll give it a shot, but I'd rather Bizarre have kept the IP.

I just got Bur for PC at Best Buy for $10. Really fun, though poorly optimized.

It runs fine on a Core 2 Duo with 4GB RAM and a GeForce 460Ti.

At 60fps, effects on maxiumum? I'm running a quad-core C2D with 6GB RAM and a 7850, and mine is variable between 40 and 60. Apparently people with lower end i7's can't even get a steady 60.

Although Activision will basically burn in hell for what they did to Bizarre Creations, and this here is a luke-warm dip in the pool, at the very least it seems someone, somewhere in that cesspool of a company is trying to still get this thing made and this was the "compromise"
