One Piece: Romance Dawn for Nintendo 3DS turns the popular anime series into an RPG for the first time. Promising "Grand Tactical Battles," Romance Dawn combines real-time and turn-based elements into its combat. Players will have to consider movement ability, special attack costs, and enemy positions as they fight some of the series' most famous foes, like Arlong, Crocodile, Rob Lucci, and Magellan.

The story covers the beginning of Luffy's journey, up to the Marineford arc. And although it covers familiar territory for fans, the game will feature original animation by Toei that relives some key moments from the franchise.

For the US release, Namco Bandai says that the game will feature Japanese voice overs with English subtitles. The game will be available to download via the Nintendo eShop, however no decision has been made on if there will be a retail release. There's no specific date either, with Namco Bandai promising release "this holiday."
