Why Hideo Kojima prefers Big Boss over Solid Snake

One of the reasons why creator Hideo Kojima returns to Big Boss is that he finds it "easier" to tell his story. "As you guys know, Solid Snake is not a real human, but Big Boss is," he explained to us.

Ever since Metal Gear Solid 3, the franchise has become increasingly focused on the exploits of Big Boss--the man responsible for the creation of Solid Snake. Both Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes and Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain will focus on the older Snake.

One of the reasons why creator Hideo Kojima returns to Big Boss is that he finds it "easier" to tell his story. "As you guys know, Solid Snake is not a real human, but Big Boss is," he explained to us.

"So we really see emotions from him," Kojima pointed out. "Story-wise, it's easier to create stories with true emotions for that character."

The upcoming series of MGS5 games will take place across 1975-1984, having Big Boss inch ever closer to his eventual confrontation with Solid Snake in the original Metal Gear. He'll be known as "Punished Snake" in The Phantom Pain.

I guess. I like them both i suppose, but the problem is that we already know how big bosses story ends. IMO prequels only have so much steam, and i am not honestly sure we need a half dozen big boss games.

Considering David is Jack's clone, we can all pretend it's Solid Snake and call it a day!

This is what's called writing yourself into a corner.

This is Kojima we are talking about.

Just re-state it as a question, "This is what's called writing yourself into a corner?" and then follow that with dramatic music and "XX years ago, the world was at war. You know the meaning of war, don't you Snake? So few understand the life of a soldier. The sacrifice. The Hate. The love that one can only know when their life may be gone at any moment.". Then you explain it all with the TRUE assassination of Arch Duke Ferdinand and super computers.
