Deadlight-creators Tequila Works have unveiled Rime, a cel-shaded open-world adventure that explores the ruins of an ancient civilization.

Spanish developer Tequila Works has pulled the curtain back on a new PS4 title called Rime, a cel-shaded adventure game that has players exploring the ruins of an ancient civilization. The developer is previously known for the Xbox Live Arcade/PC title, Deadlight.

The opening trailer reveals Rime's cel-shaded artwork, as the game's main character runs across an open field and navigates treacherous ledges to explore the vast world. The trailer concludes with the sun setting and the night giving way to unseen terrors.

No release date has been given for Rime.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
