NFL Sunday Ticket no longer available on PS3

DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket will no longer be offered on PlayStation 3, just two years after the service debuted on the console.

Are you ready for some football? Well, you'll have to watch it somewhere other than your PS3. DirecTV's NFL Sunday Ticket will no longer be available on Sony's console. The service, which allows subscribers to watch out-of-market NFL games, was previously introduced in 2011 and was offered last season for a lower price.

A PlayStation representative broke the news to IGN without offering further explanation. This follows the recent announcement that Microsoft and the NFL have entered into a five year, multi-million dollar partnership.

The service is still available on PC and mobile.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
