Chasing Aurora developer Broken Rules has released some new details about their upcoming aerial exploration game, Secrets of Rætikon. The game has players flying across a colorful landscape filled with wild animals. The idea is to reactivate ancient machinery through puzzle mechanics to move forward. Players can either opt to move the story forward or take their time and take in the surrounding ambiance of areas like the daw king's lair, the fox den, and the cave of the bats.

The studio has announced that their new game will first take flight on PC, Mac, and Linux before the end of 2013. Console versions have not been announced, but the developer has not ruled them out.

A new teaser trailer has also been released (below) and it's appropriately gorgeous.

Ozzie has been playing video games since picking up his first NES controller at age 5. He has been into games ever since, only briefly stepping away during his college years. But he was pulled back in after spending years in QA circles for both THQ and Activision, mostly spending time helping to push forward the Guitar Hero series at its peak. Ozzie has become a big fan of platformers, puzzle games, shooters, and RPGs, just to name a few genres, but he’s also a huge sucker for anything with a good, compelling narrative behind it. Because what are video games if you can't enjoy a good story with a fresh Cherry Coke?
