It's difficult not to get excited for the future of VR gaming after watching this video. Developer TeddyOk combines the Oculus Rift headset with a Razer Hydra controller to create a cover shooter that requires you to literally take cover.

"You attach one Hydra wand to your chest and use the other Hydra joystick to walk forwards backwards. The camera is fully controlled by your head & body, so you literally have to turn around to walk the direction you want," he explains on the Oculus developer forums (via PC Gamer).

Even the disclaimer has us quite excited: "Please be careful when playing this demo, lots of people try to support themselves on the crates when they try to stand up or when leaning up against a column, but find there is nothing there!"

Clearly, this is a tech demo for now--and without widespread adoption of Oculus and Hydra, it's unlikely this will become a full-fledged game anytime soon. Still, it feels as though we're on the precipice of a new kind of gaming, and this is just a glimpse of what's to come.
