"Ravensdale is based on classic arcade shooters like Contra and Metal Slug, but focuses heavily on co-op interactions between players," Black Forest explains. "For example, while you rapidly pull yourself towards and past your buddies, they block projectiles heading your way and feed an overdrive mode to boost the entire team! We're also pushing for strong interactivity between player characters, enemies and the levels to provide a wider range of tactical options to both solo players and assault teams."

The dev today announced its main character will be voiced by Mark Meer, some chap who played Commander Shepard in a Mass Effect mod which hilariously made Shepard a man or something.

The Kickstarter campaign is looking for $500,000 but only has about $36k with a week already gone. You'll get a copy of the finished game if you pledge at least $18, or only $15 if you're quick. Twisted Dreams was itself Kickstarted, so Black Forest does have a proven track record with crowdfunding.
