Six classic Mega Man games from the Game Boy era are being revived for 3DS Virtual Console, in celebration of the franchise's 25th anniversary. That includes four Game Boy titles from the classic series, and two Game Boy Color games from the Mega Man X series.
Mega Man 2, 3 and 4 for Game Boy are remixes of NES games. Mega Man 5 on Game Boy, on the other hand, was a wholly original title that replaced the usual Robot Masters with space-themed "Stardroids." Those will join Mega Man: Dr. Wily's Revenge, which is already on the 3DS Virtual Console, to round out the full collection of the Game Boy series.
Mega Man Xtreme and Xtreme 2, originally on the Game Boy Color system, are coming as well. Like the original series counterparts, these borrow elements from various games in the X series. Of course, they also compress a SNES franchise into the Game Boy Color, which wasn't as clean a transition as the NES to Game Boy conversions.
Capcom hasn't given release dates for either set of games yet, but given the anniversary angle, they're likely to hit before the end of the year.
Steve Watts posted a new article, Mega Man Game Boy collection coming to 3DS Virtual Console.
Capcom has announced that it will bring the Mega Man Gameboy and Gameboy Color games to the 3DS Virtual Console, including Mega Man 2, 3, 4, 5, and Mega Man Xtreme and Xtreme 2.
Oh man, I loved the Mega Man GB games. Each game offered four robot masters from its corresponding entry on the NES, plus four more from the newest NES game. So Mega Man 2 on GB featured four masters from Mega Man 2, and brought in four from Mega Man 3 on NES. As a fan, I thought it was cool to mix and match bosses that way. "Oh, man, I just took out Magnet Man using air tornadoes!"

I had no idea that's how the GB games worked... my whole life I've been a fool... I must play these now.
