Harebrained Schemes is bringing its successfully crowdfunded cyberpunk fantasy world Shadowrun Returns to PC and tablets on July 25, a little later than originally planned. But, as promised, the developer is including a nice little bonus: all the campaign files to go with the game's editor. "The idea of releasing all the editor files for the Shadowrun Returns campaign was based on my experience working with Trent Reznor on the Alternate Reality Game for his album Year Zero," Harebrained Scheme's founder Jordan Weisman said in a release. "Trent empowered fans to remix his music any way they wished by releasing the Garage Band tracks with the album. With Shadowrun Returns, we are doing the same thing. Players can start from what we have created and build on it, revise itor use it as a starting point for completely new stories." The developer had promised to release the editor with the game as part of its crowdfunding pitch that garnered it more than $1.9 million on Kickstarter and through PayPal last year. The company said it has spent "every penny" on creation of the game. The game will be available on Steam for PC (pre-order for $17.99), the App Store for iPad, and Google Play for Android tablets.

A look at the editor

I think there's a typo and this should read 'JUNE' not 'JULY' :(

What the fuck is this shit, I don't see any kickstarter updates about a month-long delay.

Is it actually delayed? I don't see any source for this in the article.

IDK, missed backing it myself, but like you said, no source on this (yet).

I'm a backer and I haven't seen any kind of update on this yet, however a month delay doesn't bother me one bit. This game looks fantastic and if they need more time then so be it

Oh yea, me either. I already planned on doubling down and getting it on Steam and my Ipad heh. Going on vacation at the end of August, taking about an 8-10 hour car ride, so between this, KoToR and Xcom - I should be set! I'm psyched.

Glad I kickstarted it, but I didn't read anything about a delay. FINALLY some REAL games for these dumb tablets. There's but a handful of games that can actually be called that.

Yes, Year Zero had an ARG. You didn't know about that, and you don't know about Aeron chairs? Did you just blank out the mid-2000s?

The mid-2000s, when we all ran around in trenchcoats playing ARGs on our Nokia 8110........

I really want to play with it. I've never really tried that kind of thing before, and I was looking into RPG Maker and the like, but this seems like a better way to get my feet wet, considering I used to run the pen and paper games. It's been like 15 years though, so I'll need to refresh on the lore, but I already have a few ideas and I'm anxious to see what I can make happen.
