Between eschewing the expensive press conference and talking directly to consumers, and letting people who can't attend E3 get a chance to get their hands on the new software through this promotion, I really like Nintendo's approach to E3 this year! It's a refreshing change from the usual pomp and circumstance of the expo.

Yeah, they're doing a great job with it.

I agree. Their 2012 keynote was insufferably lame, and I'm a Nintendo fan. This new strategy doesn't seem to be the step backwards some people made it out to be.

The biggest issue I had with it was that the stream was really poor. But the games themselves looked cool.

I think they decided to do this since they didn't have a console to announce

I really like how for the most part, Nintendo shows a human being (who isn't talking) actually playing a video game instead of a bunch of dumb CG or """"in-engine"""" trailers or heavily scripted ""conversations"" etc.

Yea, I like this part the most. I loved how after they showed the CG Baynoetta 2 trailer, I was like "Aww man no actual gameplay?" And then bam, Iwata's like "Now we can show you some actual gameplay." :D

Agree, but wish they had gone to more Best Buy locations (not a single one in San Diego) :(

I'm definitely going to see if 3D world won't be a total let down since I was expecting a new Galaxy-style game.
