Microsoft Studios' Phil Spencer described Below as "a creative take on roguelike gameplay in a mysterious connected world filled with secrets just waiting to be discovered" during Microsoft's pre-E3 press conference, but beyond that all we know is what can be glimpsed from the trailer:

      I thought sword and sworcery was a dogshit game where the "puzzles" required you to tap on 5 random trees or whatever onscreen without any context or guidance.
