Unsurprisingly, EA Sports' Madden NFL 25 will make it in time for the console launches of both PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. The next-gen versions will be powered by the EA Sports Ignite engine, which promises to offer "10x the detail" with "4x the texture resolution" of the current-gen versions. (Current-gen version pictured above, next-gen video after the break.)

Not only will the next-gen versions have shinier graphics, it will also have Adrian Peterson as a special next-gen cover athlete. Perhaps he will get an exclusive next-gen version of the Madden curse.

I gave up on Madden and the other nfl console games about 7 years ago because we felt the games turned out to be ridiculous and unrealistic. Room mate was a Rams fan and always played and bombed the ball every play and no matter what dime package defense I put in there he wound up with reception every other play.

Has it gotten any better the last 6 years or so other than graphics and control tweaks?
