Toki Tori 2+ coming revamped to PC on July 2

You may not have known it, but the Toki Tori you might have picked up in a Humble Bundle was actually a remake of a Game Boy Color game from 2001. Developer Two Tribes debuted the actual sequel Toki Tori 2 on Wii U in April, but it seems PC will--quite rightly, hrumph hrumph--receive the definitive version. Dubbed Toki Tori 2+, it's arriving July 2 with a level editor, extra puzzles, and more.

Two Tribes describes Toki Tori 2+ as "a Metroidvania style puzzle adventure", where you play a lovely little chicken who'll need to manipulate local wildlife so he can solve puzzles to stop an awful black ooze corrupting the land. It's reviewed pretty on Wii U and my, how fancy the PC version is.

The revamped and renamed Toki Tori 2+ for PC and Mac boasts: an improved world map; more landmarks in levels so it's clearer where in the world you are; achievements; extra puzzles; tweaks to stop players getting stuck early on; and a level editor with sharing through Steam Workshop.

"From the day that we announced the game, back in 2011, the Steam community has supported us with countless feedback reports, play-through sessions and a lot of testing," developer Two Tribes said in Friday's announcement. "Because of this and the long delays, we strongly feel that we owe the Steam community big time. It's time for us to put money where our mouth is."

Some of these additions and changes are coming to Wii U too, Two Tribes said on Twitter.
