XCOM dev launches Haunted Hollow on iOS

The clock has chimed thirteen, blood drips down my walls, I hear footsteps in the empty hallway, and a Dracula is biting my neck, which all chilling omens all indicate that XCOM: Enemy Unknown and Civilization developer Firaxis has now launched its first mobile game. Turn-based spooky strategy Haunted Hollow came out this morning on iOS.

Haunted Mansion is a competitive game where players build haunted mansions to grow an army of monsters then take over the nearby town. You can play against AI, or scare your chums online.

"We are traditionally a PC shop, but one cannot live by Civ alone," lead designer David McDonough told Shacknews during GDC in March. "Firaxis wants to grow as a company creatively, so mobile seems like a great place to try out."

Firaxis announced its second mobile game yesterday, fly 'em up Sid Meier's Ace Patrol.

Haunted Hollow is free to download from the iTunes App Store, but naturally supported by microtransaction doodads. They cost a dollar or two, or you can buy a season pass for $8.
