Indie studio Spicy Horse has announced its next game, a hybrid of collectible card game and real-time strategy mechanics it calls Hell Invaders. Spicy Horse hasn't announced a publisher yet, but says the game is coming to PC, Mac, Linux, and tablets this fall.

The announcement mentions that the cards will be shown actually fighting, and some cards can use upgrades and swappable skills. That means two cards of the same creature might have radically different attacks. The studio promises a single-player campaign, PvP arenas, and a trading and card management system.

Earlier this year, Spicy Horse went the Kickstarter route for its game Akaneiro: The Demon Hunters, and met its goal of $200,000. Last we heard, the developer was considering a similar approach for a third Alice game in the American McGee series. The developer hasn't mentioned any plans to similarly crowdfund Hell Invaders.
