The Prince of Persia series may be "paused" for now in terms of brand new games, but Ubisoft apparently doesn't mind jumping in to remaster the classic Prince of Persia 2 from Broderbund that came out in 1993.

Ubisoft launched a trailer for a re-envisioned version of the game entitled Prince of Persia: The Shadow and the Flame. The game will be for mobile devices, but the trailer doesn't mention which ones. It does say the game will be out "soon".

Prince of Persia creator Jordan Mechner mentioned on his blog that the game will not be a direct port, but will have "updated graphics, sound, and touch controls in the spirit of Prince of Persia Classic."

This year marks the 10th anniversary of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time. Next year will mark the 25th anniversary of the saga that started with the original Prince of Persia on the Apple II in 1989, Mechner released the original source code for that game last year.

Vita has buttons. This doesn't. And it's quite terrible.

            ^this!

I red mobile devices as smartphones only, and that really sucks.
Vita's buttons puts any smartphone in a pocket (failed joke? ^_^)

One of the best games ever. Once you get past the new cartoon style departure from the first.

Ah, awesome. I'll always remember this as the first game I used with a sound card (loved it!)
