After a troubled launch that resulted in the game being pulled from Steam, The War Z is back on Steam today. A notice states that Hammerpoint Interactive collaborated with Valve to address community feedback and make the title available worldwide.

The announcement also notes that the game has been patched for existing customers, and the refund offer has ended. The game is available for purchase for $14.99, or with tiers of Gold Credits for $24.99 and $49.99.

The game initially released late last year, but was dogged with complaints almost immediately. The game page didn't list which features were current and which were planned for future updates, leading some customers to feel they had been misled. Comments from executive producer Sergey Titov didn't ease matters, and he later apologized. Steam subsequently pulled the game and offered refunds.

This is the same guy who blamed the customers for his shitty game, something along the lines of "I am sorry the customers misunderstood what was actually going to be int he game". Valve should have a little more respect then to put this blatant ripoff back on Steam.

It'll be interesting to see if it breaks the top 10 again.

Unfortunately, many of the features advertised on the game’s Steam page were either exaggerations, or outright lies. Rightly so, customers were frustrated by these false promises, and this led to executive producer Sergey Titov making an “apology” on the title’s official forum, where he said he was sorry that gamers “misread” the Steam page.

I still don't get the title. 'The War Zombie'? I think 'Z War' would've made more sense since they obviously couldn't take 'World War Z'.

World War Z was taken, DayZ was popular. What's not to get.

It's a shitty title, but what do expect from a game like this.
