Crysis 3 is getting a multiplayer beta next week on all platforms, letting eager Nanosuit wearers toy around with it before the game launches properly on February 19. The beta will feature two team-based modes and two maps.

It begins January 29 and ends on February 12, and features the "Crash Site" and "Hunter" modes. Crash Site is the game's take on a control point mode, while Hunter is an asymmetrical mode pitting two cloaked Hunters attempting to take down 10 CELL troopers within a time limit. Any CELL units killed respawn as Hunters, which means the last CELL standing is probably doomed. These modes will take place in the Airport and Museum maps, two of the twelve shipping with the game.

The beta will also include the "New York Feed," the Crysis version of EA's standard social feature that gives you info on your friends' accomplishments and updates regularly with new challenges.

Ah, giving the hackers a head start I see. Seriously though, within the first week of Crysis 2's release the multiplayer game was unplayable because of all the hacking.

And the first week itself the game had serious server issues as well :-/.

The hacking ruined what was actually a really good MP.

Or is it just a demo that will be available to everyone?

          For EA, "Beta" = demo.

Its supposed to make it sound more important or exclusive.
