I hope they rethunk their design philosophy established from Conviction and make a game that is genuinely dedicated to and rewards smarter stealth approaches.

I guess you haven't seen the preview videos yet. In 2013, stealth is defined by the ability to burst into a room and instantly kill everyone in the room before they know you are there.

Stealth! They don't even know you were there.

Actually, there are entirely stealth, non-killing actions to take in every scenario in the game. If you want to play this game like you're playing Chaos Theory, feel free. Not only that, but you'll be rewarded specifically for playing the game that way.

People are starting to whine about the "super takedowns" in games, when for the most part, they're additions to the already there stealth aspect. If I were some super agent/spy/assassin, I would sure hope I'd be adept at taking people down quickly if shit hit the fan.

That'll be a big change from the previous game. I'll believe it when I see it.

No Michael Ironside's voice? That's not Sam Fisher without Ironside.

And why does Sam Fisher keep getting younger with each installment? I was able to put up with Conviction's Sam as I attributed it to the new art style of the game, but now with both a new voice and an even younger Sam Fisher, I'm having trouble reconciling the "Benjamin Buttoning" of this iconic character. I'll still give the game a chance, but it's on thin ice with me right now...

Well at least it's not the same time as GTAV and should hold me over until then.

I walked past a game store yesterday and they had a huge Splinter Cell: Blacklist cutout at the entrance. I told my coworker "that's odd, I didn't know another Splinter Cell was coming out soon", and now I see they just stupidly early with the marketing material for it. :)
