Deck-building card games are all the rage, and Penny Arcade has one of their own, through card game maker Cryptozoic. Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs Evil has players selecting a Hero card and using companions like "Merch" and "Laser Squid" to take down their opponents. If you're not up for the work (and $44.99 price tag) of the physical game, a digital version is hitting the iOS App Store tomorrow for $4.99.

The game features the standard deck with asynchronous multiplayer, local pass-and-play multiplayer, or single-player battles against AI opponents. You'll also get an online rematch button, a "Next Game" button, card gallery, introductory tutorial, and a rule book. Cards carry the Penny Arcade charm, with names like Dark Tycho and Pax Pox.

As the announcement notes, the physical game was followed by the "Rumble in R'lyeh" expansion, which could be played separately or combined with the original game. Today's announcement didn't mention any expansion plans.

"The iOS version of Penny Arcade The Game: Gamers vs. Evil has been a long time coming because, as with everything we do, we wanted to make sure it was a great game and true to the brand before we put it out,” said Cryptozoic COO Scott Gaeta in the announcement. "We really appreciate all the hard work Playdek put into translating the physical game to iOS, and keeping all the fun of Penny Arcade in it."
