Remember when Sony said that the PS3 would be a ten year console? As we approach the 6th anniversary of the console, it appears Sony will make good on its word.

Sony's John Koller promised that a "lot of great content is coming" to the console, and not just for the next year or so. "Over the next 2-3 years, the PS3 has got an incredible lineup," he teased.

"We're going to continue supporting the PS3 for the next few years. Absolutely," Koller told Gamespot. "And we're going to continue supporting it not only that long, but as long as there is a development spigot that's running hot. And I can tell you right now, the development spigot for PS3 is very hot. A lot of great games coming."

There's precedent for long-term support for Sony's home consoles. Koller points out that the same thing happened with the PlayStation 2, with games like Persona 4 launching "many years after its launch." Sony already has a number of games planned for 2013, including The Last of Us and Beyond: Two Souls. And now that they've pledged support until at least 2015, maybe The Last Guardian will actually come out on PS3.

As it well should be. There's tons of life left in the system and what its capable of.

I for one, am not looking forward to a PS4, and will probably not purchase it unless there's some seriously innovating features

Yep, me too, tons of great games I still haven't had time to play and no desire to upgrade to a PS4.

Coast into 2015 with HD remakes of games spanning their entire ps1/ps2/psp catalog.

An HD remake of Chrono Cross would be an instant buy for me.

if they could get a true sequel to chrono trigger on the PS3, I'd burn my 360 and buy one in a heartbeat.

Have they even reached the year yet when developers were supposed to be able to fully unlock the potential of the POWER of the PS3!? We might still be a year or so out from Ultimate PS3 Cell Super Power Unlocking!

You know, worst case scenario this could mean the PS4 doesn't release till 2015...

I still think a handful of games were released in 2012 for the PS2.

So far I think the only PS2 release this year is MLB 2K12. There might be a couple soccer games out by the end of the year. 2011 had seven sports games and I think that's it. 2010 had about 19 games, and they weren't all sports titles!
