Call of Juarez Gunslinger returning to Old West
After a brief jaunt into the present-day with the crowbait Call of Juarez: The Cartel, Techland's yee-hawing FPS series is returning to its Old West roots in Call of Juarez Gunslinger. It'll be a downloadable affair, setting you off on the trail of Wild West legends like Billy the Kid and Jesse Games as a bounty hunter.

It'll be a downloadable affair, setting you off on the trail of Wild West legends like Billy the Kid and Jesse James as a bounty hunter.
Publisher Ubisoft describe it as an "arcade FPS," whatever that means. The announcement mentions skill development, giving you new "shooting abilities," and neat tricks like dodging bullets.
Gunslinger is coming to PC, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network in the first quarter of 2013. We have a few screenshots, and here's the live-action announcement trailer:

I have played all 3.
And, it doesnt matter if they are going back to the old west, if they make a crappy game like the third one was.
Hand holding to the extreme. Very bad voice acting (annoying). Bad console port to the pc. Couldnt go exploring more than 10 feet off of the VERY linear path, or the game reset back to the last checkpoint.
Just so many bad choices all around.
I hope the game goes back to the very first game devs. -

Seems like Ubisoft lost faith in the series.
Too bad, I loved it. The last one wasn't total garbage, they had some nice ideas in there and the action was pretty good, but they should have capitalized in all that made part 2 good and kept refining it. They also have some great characters and I SINCERELY hope they keep fleshing out those characters and not just make this "game" a Call of Juarez in name only.
Cause that trailer (if that's what you call it) is about as generic as any ol' western can be. -
But that never happened. And those clothes are ridiculous.

I don't think the first one aged very well. The 2nd one is so fun. Definitely replayable. Lots of great scenarios, characters and battles.

Techland as made some questionable decisions as of late. They need to stick to making innovative games with features you haven't seen before. There was a time when I thought dead island was going to be a frightening survival horror but they missed that one, it was about the time the last COJ came out. Wonder what they were drinking... and smoking. Unless Poland was hit by a epidemic of brain slugs frim Futurama...
