MMORPG fans, are you looking for a new game to provide you with the goals, structures and satisfaction you cannot find in your daily life? You can now give Tera a go for free, thanks to a new seven-day trial, and see if it fills that gaping void.

There are, of course, restrictions, but they seem relatively lax. The trial lets you play up to level 23 with eight characters on one single server, so you can get a good feel for the classes and how they play once they've unlocked a fair number of skills. You can't vote in the Tera elections though, oh no, so stow those rigging plans you had.

"We are thrilled that the unique experience of Tera's true action MMO gameplay is resonating so strongly with our players," publisher En Masse's VP of publishing Chris Lee said in the announcement. "Now we want to open up to new players curious about the game with a free one-week Tera trial, as we're confident if you play, you will stay."

Hit up the trial site to get in and start playing.

Ugh, just can't get into that art style, squeaky female character wearing bunny ears carrying weapons 500X too big fighting in high heals and mini skirts.

I'm with you. I want to like it because the gameplay sounds interesting but egad their character designs do not resonate with me.

Alice, how big is the footprint on this demo? Is it 15-30 gigs like on amazon, or is the demo cut down?

It's not a "demo" so much as it's a Trial Account for the normal game.

Full download, full install, just a week until you have to give them monies.
