Steel Battalion Heavy Armor demo now on Xbox Live

Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor now has a demo available on the Xbox Live Marketplace, so you can try out the Kinect functionality for yourself.

Plenty of series and genres have undergone a streamlining process for Kinect, but possibly none more than Steel Battalion. Steel Battalion: Heavy Armor signifies a shift from what may be the most ridiculous controller ever, to a standard controller with hybrid motion controls. Today you can get a chance to try out that hybrid yourself with a demo that's just hit Xbox Live.

The demo requires Kinect, but if you have the camera peripheral and a Gold account you can try it out now. The game uses the standard controller for some basic movements and firing, but you'll be reaching for the various controls to grab the periscope, aim outside the window, and rise up through the hatch of the mech. Here's how you play:

The game is due on June 19 from Capcom and developer From Software.

When I heard that Steel Battalion was coming out for the 360 I was like 'FUCK YEAH!', then I heard it was going to use the Kinect instead of a gigantic, badass controller and I was like 'FUCK!'.
