Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2 rated in Korea

The Korean Rating Board has rated Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, leading to speculation that Sega will release the game in early next year.

Sega seems to be preparing the second episode of Sonic the Hedgehog 4, if a Korean rating is any indication. The downloadable titles were put on hold this year due to Sonic's anniversary celebrations with Generations, but Sega has previously said Episode 2 is coming in 2012.

Siliconera reports that the Korean rating tends to come a few months before the game releases. Sega may be aiming for a spring release, rather than the fall when Episode 1 launched. Previously the Korean Rating Board has spilled the beans on Limbo for PS3, Joe Danger for XBLA, and the Jak & Daxter Collection.

Sega of America and Europe president Mike Hayes previously recognized some shortcomings of the previous episode and committed to correcting them. "I know there were some quality issues that we had there that we've taken on board and there will be further episodes following up on that," he said. "I think the next one's excellent. I think that's going to overcome some of the issues we had on the first one."

I think ep1 was the most disappointing game I played all year. Sonic can eat a dick.

Nope, I really enjoyed it. Its a very good platformer aside the reason people are fixated on. Those with the hate have to get out of their head that it does not play like the old sonic, Generation is for that.

I personally see this like some of the Mario or Street fighter off shoots it stand on its own just fine, just don't compare it to the original in terms how Sonic feels, yes Sonic feels different, that is no reason to write it off as shit to me.

I am really looking forward to Eps 2, even if I am in the minority.

sonic totally just fell off my "care" list long ago. probably sometime around Shadow the Hedgehog. doesn't help that sonic's become some sort of furry-hero

Hopefully the controls won't be as sloppy as they were in Ep1.

Unless they've entirely re-coded the game to match the feel of Generations this is an utterly pointless release. There's nothing redeeming about Episode 1...
