The staggered early access to Star Wars: The Old Republic, which you can get by pre-ordering the boldly-going MMO, will let you in "up to five days" early, BioWare has revealed.

Those who've redeemed their codes earliest will be first in line to get in before The Old Republic launches.

"Early Game Access is staggered over five days to ensure a quality experience for players at launch," BioWare explains in a blog post. "Staggering access aids server stability and a gradual increase in player population through the game."

BioWare previously had avoided saying how long the early access would be, and when it would begin, saying only that the difference between getting early or later early access "should be a matter of days, not weeks." Now we know: five days is the best-case scenario.

Star Wars: The Old Republic is slated to launch in North America on December 20, with the European launch following on December 22. Star Wars collectors can cough up $150 for the Collector's Edition, which includes goodies including a statue and in-game items.
