Insomniac files trademarks for two extraterrestrial 'beast' titles

Developer Insomniac Games have filed two new trademarks, each featuring different types of 'out of this world' beasts.

Insomniac Games is known for working with Sony to provide exclusive experiences, such as the Resistance and Ratchet & Clank franchises; however, the developer is poised to ship its first multiplatform release with the recently announced title Overstrike.

More may be on the way, as Siliconera has discovered two new trademark filings by the independent developer.

US filings for both "Space Beasts" and "Galaxy Beasts" have been found online, submitted by the Burbank, California-based developer. Both registrations denote 'Beasts' are products in the video game software and online video games space.

Whether they are filings for two wholly new products, alternate titles for the same new product, or an extension of an existing product are unclear. Shacknews has contacted Insomniac Games for comment, but considering no one in space can hear you do much of anything... we suspect the inquires will go unanswered.

Check out the announcement trailer for Insomniac's first multi-platform venture, Overstrike, below.
