The video game release list of 5/16-5/22

Next week's new releases include superstars L.A. Noire and The Witcher 2, plus Fable 3 on PC, Chrono Trigger on Wii, and more.

AAA games flee before The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and L.A. Noire, fearful to release in the same week as these two much-anticipated games. Smaller, cheaper, downloadable titles and downloadable content are unphased by this, though. On that front, we're getting Sega Rally Online Arcade, the Honest Hearts DLC for Fallout: New Vegas, and Terraria, which I shall lazily describe as "kind of a bit like an action-oriented 2D Minecraft."

If you're somehow not interested in any of those, there's a a colouring-in game on DSiWare and some Wii titles that'll teach you how to read.

Don't get your hopes up over anything downloadable on PlayStation 3. The PlayStation Network is still down following the hack, Sony isn't sure when it'll be be back up, and it's unclear what will happen to new releases when it does return, considering the ever-growing backlog.

Here's the list of next week's releases:

Xbox 360

PlayStation 3

Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo DS

*At the time of publishing, the PlayStation Network is still offline.

"Next week" refers to the week immediately following the current week. You are meaning to say "the week after next."

In a thread about the video games coming out this week, next week obviously means the week after this one.

i never had an interested in minecraft, but Terraria looks pretty darn cool. Probably wait for the bugs to get ironed out since it's an indie team though.

From what i've heard with that game is bugs where ironed ~2 weeks ago, main wait was legal stuff to put it out, only watched ~2 vids from it but my uncle keeps talking about it a lot how great it's gonna be and apparently the guys who made the game have great tutorials on their youtube page

I'm apprehensively excited for L.A. Noire. I wish they had removed the 'e', but even more I am afraid that it will be more Mafia 2 than GTA. Mafia just didn't feel right to me. Maybe that won't matter if the game really does play more like a Heavy Rain/interactive story. Fingers crossed for this one!

If ANYONE here buys Fable 3 on pc and is surprised that they don't like it, I will murder you. Repeatedly if at all possible. In gruesome and unlikely ways, preferably involving puns and chopsticks (I have some extra chopsticks laying around)

imadbro. No L.A. Noire for PC. no Shift2DLC for PC. We're barely getting Fable 3.

      Witcher 2 it is then.
