Mass Effect 2 Named AIAS Game of the Year; Red Dead Redemption Scores Five Awards

The Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences (AIAS) held its 14th annual Interactive Achievement Awards at the DICE Summit last night, and now the results are in. Mass Effect 2 took the night's top honors with the Game of the Year award, but it wasn't the only standout of the evening.

Red Dead Redemption actually won a greater number of awards, five in total to Mass Effect's three. Heavy Rain was also among the top recipients, with awards in Innovation, visual engineering, and music composition.

  • Outstanding Achievement in Game Play Engineering: Red Dead Redemption
  • Outstanding Achievement in Online Game Play: StarCraft 2
  • Outstanding Achievement in Original Music Composition: Heavy Rain
  • Outstanding Achievement in Sound Design: Limbo
  • Outstanding Achievement in Soundtrack: Rock Band 3

        It doesn't matter what genre ME2 is, the overall GOTY award was well-deserved.
