Joystiq reports that Final Fantasy Agito XIII has been renamed Final Fantasy Type-0. Square says the new name distances it from Final Fantasy XIII because it had become much more action-oriented, but it's also undoubtedly to avoid confusion with Final Fantasy XIII-2.

Type-0 will be among the largest PlayStation Portable games to date, taking up two UMDs instead of just one. Over thirty "big name" voice actors will lend their talents to the game, according to Siliconera's report. Square recently trademarked Type-1, Type-2, and Type-3, so we may be seeing the dawn of a new spin-off series.
