Dead Space Save File Unlocks Original Plasma Cutter in Dead Space 2

10
Fans of the original Dead Space are in for a special treat when they grab their copy of Dead Space 2 later this month. If you have a save file for the original title, whether you've completed the game or not, you'll unlock the original Plasma Cutter weapon for immediate use in Dead Space 2, Viceral Games programmer Louis Gascoigne tweeted.

However, nabbing the extra weapon won't give Isaac Clarke an immediate advantage over the menacing Necromorphs. Gascoigne told Joystiq the unlock will not carry over any upgrades made to the weapon in the original Dead Space. Basically, Isaac is still going to have a really long and horrible day.

The original weapon became the go-to selection for hardcore Achievement and Trophy hunters who battled through the entire original title with the game's primary weapon, giving them a little extra nerd cred for being loyal to the cutting machine.

Well, it was also the best weapon in the game by far

^^^ This. Its versatility was unmatched. Second best for me was the line gun, as its alternate fire was a bomb that was effective in killing the Necromorphs that hung from walls and spawned babies that fired projectiles. *shudder* I hated its moans.

Force Gun got my through the hardest difficulty setting. Great crowd control.

It's also another decent Guardian killer with its secondary fire, but I did like it most for its ability to push super-Slashers away and slaughter the horrid gangly ones.

I liked the assault rifle and force gun a lot too, I found both very worth using.

The Line gun was really good too fully upgraded. Took the legs clean off of shit with almost no regard to how big the target was.

Was my favorite and since I didn't bother with stasis, I had lots of extra upgrades to put into my gun. :)
