NBA Jam Launching on Xbox 360, PS3 in November With Online Multiplayer

The Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 editions of NBA Jam will arrive at retail on November 17, boasting a special feature not found in the original Wii release--online multiplayer.

NBA Jam will ship with only Classic 2-on-2 online play but receive further modes in a free title update in December. It'll bring Remix Games, which include "classic arcade hoop games like Backboard Smash, Domination Free-for-All, Elimination, and 21," to play both locally and online plus 'Online Progession,' where you level up "through a series of challengers and secret online JAM Challenges."

"We have listened to our NBA JAM fans and appreciate their desire to play this game online, so we are going to deliver the online feature set they expect and deserve," NBA Jam creative director Trey Smith said in the announcement. "Fans will be able to play Classic JAM online right out of the box, and can expect to enjoy features like Team-up, Remix Online, Jam Party, Online Progression, and even more secret players and teams, in December."

A cut-down edition of NBA Jam was due to be included with NBA Elite 11 on Xbox 360 and PS3 but it was spun off into an expanded standalone release after Elite 11 was delayed into 2011. NBA Jam will cost $49.99 when it arrives on November 17.
