The penultimate game (the fifth of six planned) in the popular Bit.Trip series--this time it's a side-scrolling shooter--may launch sooner than you think.

Speaking with Nintendo Life [via Joystiq], Gaijin Games' Alex Neuse revealed a probable release window for Bit.Trip Fate. It could be available on Nintendo's WiiWare platform in less than two weeks. "We don't have the final release date for Bit. Trip Fate just yet," Neuse explained, "but if I were a betting man, I'd put my potato chips on Oct. 18 for a North American release. Or thereabouts."

Neuse revealed the window when asked about the game's early soundtrack release, which launched alongside the game's unveiling earlier this month (available now on CDBaby for $6).

According to Neuse, the soundtrack was released early partially because the company had never tried doing it in the past and to help players build "a relationship with the more somber, darker theme."
