In the latest developer diary for Star Wars: The Old Republic, the team at BioWare discuss developing the different types of Jedi present in the game's world.

Whether you'd prefer to be a heroic and merciful savior like Luke Skywalker or a more avenging type of Jedi like Anakin, the choices will be available to you.

The diary also jumps into the world of space combat and the look and feel of force powers and lightsabers. Don't worry fans, BioWare promises that sabers will clash properly, in both look and sound, when Jedi's face-off against each other in the upcoming MMO.

Star Wars: The Old Republic launches on PC in 2011.

I'm glad there's going to be more than just the "boyscout" type jedi.
I want to be a bit rebellious ala Qui-Gon Jinn

They've stressed that you can make moral decisions like you could in KOTOR. So you can have the doucheiest, most evil Jedi if you want, or a Sith Warrior that would put Gandhi to shame. Granted I don't know if you can really be that good/bad, just being dramatic. But you get the point.

I don't think ya should be able to pick to start as a Sith. Think ya should start as a Jedi then fall to the dark side, don't think it should be things like "should i kill this dude? Or save the guy?" in KOTOR it was pretty easy to tell what things would turn ya to the dark side.

          Wat.

Sith are not simply "fallen jedi". You CAN fall from being a jedi, but even that does not automatically make you a sith.
