THQ Continues to Work on Metro 2033 DLC Achievement Issue, Asks for 'Patience'

1
Prior to releasing the "Ranger Pack" DLC, Metro 2033 was patched to prepare for the content. Since then, users on the Xbox 360 have experienced issues with unlocking Achievements specific to the add-on.

Although the issues were acknowledged on the game's official Twitter account on August 3, users continue to have problems with the accomplishment-based meta-game.

In a statement released to Joystiq, THQ commented on the continuing problems:
We understand some people are still experiencing issues with achievements unlocking in the Metro 2033 Ranger Pack DLC. We are currently working with Microsoft to ascertain whether this is due to a code related issue with the DLC itself, or an error in the Marketplace process whereby the DLC was added to Xbox LIVE Marketplace before the new achievement data was added - this exact issue has happened to other games in the past, but we need to be sure that this is what's happening here. We realize this is frustrating for those of you who have been waiting to enjoy the Ranger Pack DLC, and we ask for your patience as we try to pinpoint the exact issue and solution.

We'd recommend users until a fix is released before adding the content to their copies of the post-apocalyptic shooter. Since the issue was discovered, THQ has decided to "hold off" on releasing the content to PC users to verify the issues are specific to the Xbox 360. The PC version of Metro 2033 uses Steamworks.

According to Joystiq, the original title continues to unlock achievements normally on the Xbox 360 since the content release. What isn't normal are those freakish monsters littered throughout the world in Metro 2033. Seriously, those things are insane.

"We'd recommend users until a fix is released"
