Three New Trademarks Filed by EA for Syndicate; Game Announcement Imminent?

11
The long-expected revival of its classic Bullfrog Productions series Syndicate could be nearing an official announcement, as Superannuation spotted three new trademark registrations for the franchise.

It is believed that Starbreeze (The Chronicles of Riddick series, The Darkness) will be developing the project. Don't get your hopes up, however, as an Electornics Arts representative told Shacknews that the company "routinely updates its trademark rights. Syndicate is an EA property."

Time will tell if this is merely some housekeeping to refresh its trademarks or the lead-up to an announcement. The breadth of the new trademarks, covering everything from a video game to "Board games; Collectable toy figures;... Modeled plastic toy figurines; Playing cards", seems to suggest that this could be a bit more than a re-filing.

Since this is Bullfrog (EA), Magic Carpet would be a good next refresh. *IF* this is actually a new game.

Considering how much Lucas has ignored both of those franchises I'd say that's not how to get hired. Then again, milking SW would. uhoh, paradox.
