Blizzard Details StarCraft 2 Bugs and Temporary Fixes

32
As with all games, there will be bugs at release. Blizzard has detailed the known issues in StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty on its forums as well as some workarounds for some of the issues.

Most notably, the game will crash if run in a Windows compatibility mode and there is a potential overheating issue if the player spends too much time looking at game "screens that are light on detail" as the "game has nothing to do so it is primarily just working on drawing the screen very quickly." This can include the game's main menu or other interface screens. A simple framerate cap is suggested as a workaround.

There are a few more issues, most revolving around specific software or behaviors. Are you having any issues with your shiny new copy of StarCraft II? What about on the Mac? Performance on a Mac during the beta was lagging behind the PC version, but I'm curious to find out if it evened out for launch.

That's kind of hilarious, though something similar happens in Dead Space if you don't enable V-Sync.

The wow login screen used to do it. It burned up one my video cards.

Hehe yeah, I'm very careful to close WoW down completely now instead of leaving it at the login screen, after I came back to find my GPU cooler whining away at something very close to max fan speed o.O
