Making the wait until May 18 all the more agonizing, a new trailer for Rockstar San Diego's open-world western Red Dead Redemption has been released by the studio.

Essentially a Grand Theft Auto set in 1910, the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 game looks amazing, and it plays pretty well too. For more, check out my hands-on preview.

Fuckkkk this game looks awesome. Looks like they really nailed the western setting, the Rage engine is beautiful, and the gun play looks solid.

    On my face please.

They promised better gun play in GTA4, but it still sort of sucked.

Well, it was better gun play - that's for sure. Wasn't without it's faults though, as you mentioned. I honestly don't know of many 3rd person shooters that have excellent aiming though.

I'm hoping this one is fairly free roaming and the world map is really large. Would love to just set off exploring in the open and find some adventures.

I thought the gun play in GTA IV worked very well... I didn't have major complaints. If it is better than that... then it will be excellent.
